Inspire Cross Country

We are in Lower Weare, just off the A38, turn down Notting Hill Way. Take the same entrance as Hood Archery and continue to the end of the road. The postcode is BS26 2JS.

Inspire Cross Country is owned and managed by local farrier – Dom Northmore with his wife and local Vet Rachel Northmore. They wanted to create an inspiring and encouraging course for the grassroot rider with aspirations of eventing.

Yes, we have a range of fences starting from 1ft 6 (approx. 45/50cm). We have a ‘tiny’ section and the field is completely enclosed so very safe.

Yes, but no rider under 8 will be permitted to use the course unless participating in an affiliated Pony Club event. Riders under 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult. NO lone riders under 18 will be permitted to use the course.

The course is open for one month each year - the dates will be posted on site and to our FB page as they are dependent on the ground. When open, the course is available for hire every day from 8am until 8pm.

We have fixed slots for two hours. We feel this provides both enough time for horse and rider to arrive, settle and enjoy the course. We feel 2 hours also allows you plenty of time to jump everything you want to and also to be boxed up and ready to leave before the next rider slot.

The booking options available are:

• Individual hire – 1 person

• Group of 2 hire

• Group of 3 hire

• Group of 4 hire.

We are allowing just one booking per time slot. So, if you are an individual rider, it will be just you on course. Similarly, if you have booked a group (whether that is a group of 2, 3 or 4), you will have exclusive use of the course for you group for that time slot.

We have done this because we want to encourage people with young or nervous horses (or riders) to come along, and we understand that clashing with another group may upset the horse and/or rider.

Unfortunately no. Payment for bookings is made in full through our online booking system at time of booking. Please be aware of our cancellation policy.

Cancellations can be made through the website. Please log in to ‘my bookings’ and cancel your booking. We will be notified and will issue a refund as long as you have not cancelled within 48 hours.

We require 48-hours notice for cancellation of your booking. If you cancel within this period, you will not receive a refund.

If due to adverse weather conditions we deem the course unsafe, you would not be permitted on course. In this event we will cancel and refund your booking. If you are already on course, we will ask you to stop and re-arrange your booking.

Dogs are allowed on the premises but MUST be kept on a lead at all times.

Owners MUST clear up after their dogs and take it home with them (the poo not just the dog!).

Please also be respectful to the rider you are with. If your dog is upsetting any of the horses, please take the dog off the course.

There are no facilities on site, so please bring your own equipment.
